The choirs will be very busy in December. We start the month with Advent communion in the morning of December 3rd. In the evening some of our Joyful Singers, Praise Choir, vocal and instrumental soloists will be entertaining at the Rocky Ridge Festival of Lights from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Should be a fun filled evening!
Then the following Sunday, December 10th, the Cantata “The Heart of Christmas” will be presented at Lischey’s at 3:00 PM. This is the efforts of combined voices from Lischey’s, Mt. Zion, West York Church of the Brethren, and Hanover Church of the Brethren. It is a beautiful musical that centers on the choices of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and wise men as it presents Jesus as God’s gift to all who will receive Him and our greatest choice.
December 16th will give everyone, not just the choirs, the opportunity to spread cheer and good wishes to all our shut-ins as we go caroling. Please come our and support this wonderful tradition that can be so much fun and means so much to our special members that can’t be with us each Sunday.
December 17th will be the presentation of the Children’s Cantata, “Touch of an Angel”. The children are hard at work singing and learning their parts for this exciting day. It is sure to be a special experience for everyone. Mark your calendars.
Also on December 17th, the adult cantata will again be presented at 3:00 PM at the West York Church of the Brethren and again at 7:00 PM at the Hanover Church of the Brethren. So if you missed it on the 10th, you still have a chance to enjoy this easy and fun listening musical.
Then we are at December 24th, which happens to be a Sunday this year. Don’t forget the Heart of Christmas is Jesus, God’s greatest gift and let’s remember it is our greatest choice. We will have our morning service and then Christmas Eve services begin at 7:00 PM with music beginning at 6:15 PM. This year the Christmas Story will be told through a mini musical with choir and congregation participation.
Mark your calendars and plan to participate in the special events of December at our church.
